Bali time...

Reminiscing on the moments when time stood still
days were mixed up,
and you couldn’t tell time
a time when Balinese humbleness left you speechless,
their beautiful island swept you up on a magical carpet
and the palm leaves wrapped their arms around you
and made you forget about time and worldly worries,
a time when smouldering volcanoes felt surreal
a time when the aroma of frangipani & fragrant incense calmed your senses,
lush greenery made you want to smell the earth and never forget
a time when waterfalls came rushing down and you appreciated water even more….
gushing rivers, holy water temples and pristine black beaches.
a time when you searched for harmony when practising yoga,
slowly becoming silent and hearing thoughts you’ve long forgotten about.
Tranquil forests where the sun peeks through palm trees
ancient statues for religious protection
a time I can make peace with
a time I wish to go back to
oh Bali, you will forever more be my place of solace
I little fraction of heaven I will definitely return to.

Disappointment is tragic
it makes you believe you are worthy of less
it makes you believe hard work doesn’t pay off
it smothers prospects of growth and prosperity
it kills joy
it makes you dread getting up in the morning
it makes you want to take up additional studying
because talent means nothing
hard work means nothing
Integrity means nothing
experience means nothing
Disappointment is tragic…
it steals joy & ambition
it steals your worth

Rumi again...

“It's your road, and yours alone.
others may walk it with you,
but no one can walk it for you.”

almost done...

Oh how I miss the trails...and running more than once a week.
Just one more module to go then I can hit the road/trails again.
Studying needs to come first for now...
Next up is Business Information Systems, at least one of the modules I enjoy.

For now I'll reminisce on these beautiful memories...

white horses, a prince and a princess

Because in the end we all wanted to be a princess...
and live happily after...
we all believed in fairy-tales...
and for a little while we all remember why...
