This weekend was jam-packed with activities, outings and consuming a lot of wine (as requested on Friday....) and delicious FOOD! I think I kept the equilibrium in line with all the running and eating...it's all about balance right!?
Saturday morning I did my PB with a quick 5km park run in Bellville. I think this will be my training ground from now on as I aim to make my legs stronger for the various trail runs I enter. Next up will be park runs at Meerendal, Greenpoint and Root44...looking forward to it!
After that Chris and I headed to Laborie Wine Farm in Paarl for some wine and chocolate tasting. We ended up consuming a lot more, including MCC and pizza.. and after 4 hours we figured it's best to leave now before they close the doors on us. That's what I love about my newfound relationship...we can sit for hours and talk and talk and talk. It's liberating to have someone that wants to spend time with me, with no time limit to any adventure. Such a beautiful farm with some nostalgic memories for him, and new ones for us... We drove around with some beautiful views of Paarl and then went back home when the headache started to pound at our temples. I blame all the bubbles from the sparkling wine, all well deserved.
The next morning I did a 7km trail run at Muratie Wine Estate, one of the oldest and most charming farms in the Stellenbosch wine district. But don't let the beauty of the farm fool you, the trails with various loops are tough, but well worth it. My watch however did clock 7.5km, so I guess we were in for a surprise and my time was exactly the same as my previous 7.5km at Delvera Farm.
Enjoying life and savouring every moment....LIFE IS GOOD ♥
