Last night we watched an awe aspiring movie that really touched my heart..."Lion".
A story of hope, a family lost and one man's impossible search that will leave you in wonder and with tears rolling down your cheeks. The fact that it is a true story makes you even want to cry more.

I don't know what it is with India and the stories it portrays. The film reminded me of another favorite, "Slumdog Millionaire"...perhaps because it is the same actor that plays in "Lion" or the heart-breaking images of a poverty stricken country and how they make ends meet.

The film is based on Saroo Brierley's book, "A long way home", and tells the story of how he got lost as a 5 year old boy in India after he ended up on the wrong train, thousands of kilometers from home. After several weeks/months on the streets he ended up in a orphanage and subsequently adopted by an Australian couple and grew up in a foreign country. It depicts his heart breaking journey of hope when as an adult, feeling discontent and lost, trying to find his home. With the help of Google Earth and distant memories as a child he tries to track down his lost family.

Goosebumps! Without telling too much, I urge you to watch this movie. It really is such a story of hope, love and family.
